Penn Lyon Housing Systems is currently working on two projects in Southwest Asia, in the countries of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Both project will start producing modular homes this year. In Uzbekistan we retrofitted an existing building to handle a modular production line. All the machinery and equipment were shipped and installation was supervised by the PLHS team. Raw housing materials are now being shipped to accomodate the production line. Production will begin in Late June, 2011.
In Kazakhstan, the factory is nearing completion. This will be a 105,000 sq. ft. ( 9,767 sq. meters) production facility that will include two full production lines. This factory will produce 16 modules per day per shift at full production. All the tools and machinery are being assembled in the US for export to the factory. After factory setup we will begin to ship raw materials for modular factory production. Training is currently taking place in the US at a modern modular factory. PLHS offers full training for the management staff of the factory.
